We have been planning for a couple of months to go camping on this weekend in Goblin Valley, but we didn't think about how cold the nights would be this time of year . . . so our next best plan was to take the family to This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake. The weather was wonderful and we all enjoyed the day alot--especially the company.
We were lucky to be able to ride in a railroad car around the park.
They have rebuilt and brought in original homes from the pioneer era.
Many enjoyed panning for gold in a small stream. After we collected our golden nuggets,
we took them to town to the bank and our finds were weighed.
Then we were paid [in candy] for our mining.
Tyson was bored with panning so he just threw rocks.
All of the kids took turns riding horses except Ian who is really allergic to animals.
The next day we headed for a pumpkin patch.
We all really enjoyed the haywagon ride to the patch and the ice cream afterwards.
[Guarding his find.]
