My Grandma Tree

Grandma's Tree
Grandkids Always Welcome

I just put up and decorated my Grandma's Tree. I have put it up every year since I got my first grandchildren. Its not that pretty. But it is decorated with kid things and candy.

I decided when I was a child when I grew up, I was going to have a tree which had decorations my grandchildren could EAT.

For several years my grandmother had in her downstairs an aluminum tree. She decorated it with sugar cookies frosted white and sprinkled with silver dragees. [You know those little silver balls which have no flavor but are edible.] She would never let me eat a cookie off of the tree, probably for two reasons. First of all they were her decorations and secondly, the cookies were hard as a rock. But she never explained those thing to me. She just always said NO! when I asked her for one.

I don't know if my grandchildren really care about my grandma's tree, but they have to endure hearing me tell my story about grandma's tree each year. That alone is worth a treat.
